NEW DELHI: State-run fuel retailers on second consecutive day means Friday also cut petrol and diesel prices by 24 paise and 10 paise per litre, respectively in the national capital Delhi. This cut marked the second reduction in over two months brought about by a fall in crude price. But it would be early to be pleased about as geopolitical events unfolding in West Asia are likely to keep crude on a short fuse.

Fuel retailers on Thursday also  cut petrol and diesel prices by 21 paise and 11 paise per litrer respectively.

Today Petrol prices in the national capital Delhi are Rs 82.38 per litre which is decreased by Rs 0.24 while diesel prices are Rs 75.48 per litre  and it is decreased by Rs 0.10. On the other hand Petrol prices in the financial capital Mumbai are Rs 87.84 per litre which is decreased by Rs 0.24 and diesel prices are Rs 79.13 per litre which is decreased by Rs 0.

Worth mention here Pump prices had come down on October 5 after the PM Modi led government cut excise duty by Rs 2.50 a litre and asked state-run fuel retailers to take up Re 1. A number of states cut VAT, providing grant a stay of executi on from record rates.
