Facebook has opened a new office in London. The company says it will hire 800 people. Under this, by the end of 2018, the total number of Facebook employees in the UK will be 2,300. According to the report of The Telegraph, Facebook vice president of Europe, Middle East, and Africa, Nicola Mendelson said, "Facebook's announcements show that Facebook is more towards helping towards the UK and startups of the country." 

"The UK's flourishing entrepreneurial ecosystem and international reputation for engineering excellence make it one of the best places in the world to build a tech company," Mendelsohn added.

Facebook opened its first office in London 10 years ago. The new building will be for developers and sales staff. According to the report, Google, Apple and Snapchat's company Snap have expanded their business in London since last year's Bracket voting. Chancellor Philip Hammond said, "This is a sign that people's confidence in our country is rising and innovative companies like Facebook are investing here, it is a great news that they will recruit 800 skilled workers next year." 

Its new office will also host an in-house tech incubator called LDN_LAB. Facebook said it will invite U.K. startups to take part in programs designed to help kick-start and accelerate their businesses.
