Fast track court sentences all accused to life imprisonment in Bhopal UPSC aspirant gang raped

Bhopal: All the four people indict of the gang rape of a 19-year-old UPSC contender in Bhopal were sentenced life imprisonment by a fast track court on Saturday.

The unpleasant incident had taken place in November prior this year, when the student, whose parents are in police workforce themselves and posted in another city, was coming back from coaching classes and abducted, tied up and gang-raped for hours under a bridge close to the Habibganj Railway Station, with the thugs taking breaks for gutka and cigarettes.

When she had moved the police to lodge a complaint, the police had mocked at her, calling her story filmy due to which five police officers were suspended.

Another awful unpleasant incident, in this case, was that the medical report first filed had given indications that the victim made a fuss of in "consensual sex" with guilty people. The insensible report was later withdrawn and the error was termed as clerical.’

This incident had set off gigantic annoyance and a fast track court was constituted for a speedy trial in the case.

 After this incident, Madhya Pradesh Assembly unanimously approved bill awarding death penalty to rapists of girls under age 12.
