New Delhi: It has been reported that many engineering colleges will get close by the next year. One of the reasons for this is that in the last five years, less than 30 percent of the students have enrolled in Engineering College. In the engineering colleges of the country, 27 lakh seats are lying vacant. Only after seeing this situation, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has declared this.

Considering media reports, AICTE chairman Anil D Sahasrabuddhe has said that colleges that are not getting admission will be closed till next year. The same Chairman has also said that the number of jobs is decreasing in the country. AICTE has also prepared a National Student Startup Policy, which will be implemented in the near future.

In the last few years, ACRE has become quite active about reducing the number of engineering institutes across the country. If you see the same ACTED data then there are 10,361 engineering institutions across the country. In which AICTE has approved the total capacity of more than 37 lakh students. Now 27 lakh of these seats are lying vacant.
