Especially we can see in many public washrooms they seem are a bit scary, largely because they are usually observed to be unhygienic places, although they may look clean and tidy. And of course, there can be plenty of bugs lying in wait in public restrooms - on an average, you'll find about 50 bacteria per square inch on a toilet seat.

Maybe, the thought of how many people have sat on the same toilet seat, and how many of them have forgotten to wash their hands on the way out makes many people shudder. While maximum people would think that the toilet seat is the most contaminated spot filled with bacteria and mould, turns out the germiest area in restrooms is always the floor.

This proves that bacteria don't always flourish in the places we would expect, in fact, they can be found in the areas you considered to be one of the cleanest. To lessen your chances of catching infections, such as urinary tract infection, from using a public toilet, Below are some   tips to help you survive:

1.Always make sure you wash your hands wholly after using the toilet with soap and water – at least for 20 seconds
2. Try using a toilet seat cover if one is available.
3. Always carry/use the following items
Urination devices - waterproof funnel-like devices, which are generally designed for women to help them urinate while standing.
Toilet seat sanitizer - Finding a clean and sanitised toilet while travelling is a daunting task for everyone. Using public or common washrooms is the major cause of increasing urine infection - UTI among Indians. So carry and use toilet seat sanitizer sprays to avoid such infections.
toilet powder: The powder helps control pests and reduce odours.
4. Also, use a clean tissue to open a sanitary bin.
5. Don't forget to carry hand sanitizer and wipes - A must-have in your bag, especially if you are often on public transit. Contact with unseen germs on the go is unavoidable. Keeping a hand sanitizer and a few wet wipes handy can be of great help.
