Flatliners, which is the cult in the late 1990s, has opened with a deafening thud over the weekend. The movie hit at the box-office, the movie makes less than $10 million. But more notably, until late Sunday, the film stood at 0% on the review aggregator site, Rotten Tomatoes. Since then, a single positive review has nudged the score to 3%, but it is enough to make Flatliners one of the worst reviewed films of the year - and certainly the one with the most recognizable faces involved.

The cast and crew members of the movie include many well-known celebrities like Oscar-winner Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Kiersey Clemons, James Norton and Nina Dobrev. The cult is directed - on a relatively hefty budget of $30 million - by Neils Arden Oplev, who directed the original Swedish Girl With the Dragon Tattoo movie in 2009. Flatliners is the eight film in recent months to have achieved this distinction. There have been seven films in 2017 to have scored a 0% - the Alexandra Daddario, Kate Upton comedy The Layover, Daniel Craig-starrer Kings, and Netflix’s Naked.

-Below  are some of the harshest blurbs against Flatliners:

“What we get is a mediocre remake of a mediocre original - not exactly must-see cinema,” writes ReelViews’ James Berardinelli.“We live in an age of unnecessary remakes - but the new Flatliners movie, by Danish director Niels Arden Oplev, has the distinction of being perhaps the most unnecessary of them all,” Entertainment Weekly’s Christian Holub writes.“As Andy Kaufman’s Foreign Man would put it, ‘Ees so bad, ees terrible,’” writes NY Magazine’s, David Edelstein.
