Take a look at an overseas players are an integral part of any Indian Premier League side. Due to the upper cap on the number of foreign players one can play in a side, these overseas professionals are expected to be match-winners and perform well in every game they play.

 

Aaron Finch (RR, DD, PWI, SRH, MI, GL, KXIP)

The only player to be a part of 7 IPL franchises in the history of IPL, Aaron Finch started his career with the Rajasthan Royals and played for them till 2010. In 2011, he was picked by the Delhi Daredevils, and since then, he has been changing sides almost every season. He led Pune Warriors India in their disastrous 2013 season, following which he was picked up by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014. After an unimpressive season, the SRH let him go, after which he joined the Mumbai Indians next year.

Thisara Perera (CSK, KTK, MI, SRH, KXIP, RPS)

The Sri Lankan all-rounder is a devastating T20 player when he gets going. He has a rare distinction of playing for 5 different franchises in 5 consecutive years (2010-2014).

Steve Smith (RCB, KTK, PWI, RR, RPS)

The Australian captain too, like his teammate Finch, has had a taste of playing for various IPL franchises. Starting his career with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2010, he made a move to the Kochi Tuskers Kerala the very next year.

 

Kevin Pietersen ( RCB, DC, DD, SRH, RPS)

The star English batsman and the favorite kid of controversy started his IPL stint with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2009. After a couple of seasons, he was picked up by the Deccan Chargers in 2011 but did not play a single game for them due to an injury.
