On the death of noted journalist Gauri Lankesh the Union minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad today said that the Karnataka Govt.  must not misconstrue his statements with regard to the murder.

Union Minister also raised the question of safety of Gauri Lankaesh that "why not proper security provided to the journalist who was killed brutely. He also has asked the state government that they really gave a total security to a journalist or not? He also said that this matter should close without any biases and guilty should nab". said by Prasad.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah earlier today castigated Prasad for accusing him of failing to give protection to senior journalist Gauri Lankesh, who was murdered earlier this month.

"The central minister said the government knew about the threat, and Gauri had sought security, but the government did not give. All these, it is a most irresponsible statement given by a central minister, who also is a law minister," Siddaramaiah to media.
