Greater Noida buildings collapse: 3 dead, Police arrest owner of the land, 2 others

Noida: Exposing one more example of negligence of the authorities an under-construction six-storey building collapsed onto a four-storey housing complex at Shah Beri village in Greater Noida, outside Delhi, on Tuesday evening.

Three bodies have been found from the debris till now by emergency workers .More than 30 are still feared stranded. Search and rescue operations are still on. Residents have alleged that civic lack of concern for the incident is responsible.

According to the reports The Uttar Pradesh Police have detained three people, including the owner of the buliding.But the builder has not been booked so far. Gautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrate BN Singh said locals have told them that the collapsed buildings were constructed two years ago and a number of flats in it were still vacant. A probe will be held in this issue, he assured.

 While Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Keshav Prasad Maurya, said that District administration and NDRF teams are holding rescue and search operations.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is observeing the rescue operation. Soon after the collapse  the UP CM had asked the District Magistrate to look at the relief measures taken by the NDRF and police and to ensure immediate save of trapped people.

A dog squad has also been deployed at the spot along with Four National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams.
