Gujarat polls 2017: PM Modi to address BJP's SC-ST associates

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend to the scheduled caste (SC) and scheduled tribe (ST) members of the BJP in poll -battleground of Gujarat on Thursday and pay attention to their concerns on Cyclone Ockhi, which may smack the state.

The campaign for the first phase of the decisive Assembly polls in Gujarat, Modi's home state, is programmed to come to closing stages on Thursday.

PM Modi will hook up with the party workers on their mobile phones through the "audio bridge" technology and openly intermingle with the divisional chiefs of the party's SC and ST units in the state.

About 10,000 personnel of the party would straight attend Modi's  address, the BJP issued a statement today.

PM Modi had extended his good wishes to around 23,000 BJP personnel in Gujarat On this Diwali, through tele-conversation.

PM Modi had also talked to around 2,000 party workers in his Parliamentary constituency, Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, using the same teleconference technology.

Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani put fingers at BJP for the attack on his procession vehicle.

The 182-member Gujarat Assembly will hold the polls in two phases -- on December 9 and 14 -- and the counting of votes will be deployed on December 18.
