Hamilton grabs 70th pole position

The Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton performed well at the Sepang International Circuit on Saturday during the qualification to grab his fourth consecutive pole position for this weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix .

He locked the  fastest lap of one minute and 30.0076 seconds, finished 0.045 seconds quicker than Ferrari's Kimi Raikonnen to grab his 70th pole overall.  Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo the duo from the Red Bull pair was third and fourth quickest respectively, Sport24 reported.

At the fifth position Hamilton's team mate Valtteri Bottas finished. The three-time champion, who won the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday, is currently standing at the top of the drivers' championship after winnings six out of 13 races this year.
The Malaysian Grand Prix is a round of the Formula One World Championship which is officially known as the Malaysia Grand Prix. Hamilton widely regarded as one of the greatest Formula One drivers in the history of the sport.

He won his first World Championship title with McLaren in 2008 before moving to Mercedes, where he won back-to-back titles in 2014 and 2015. Hamilton is also the only driver to have won at least one Grand Prix in every season he has competed in.
