Gurgaon is one the fastest city of India. Every passing year this city adding one more feather in every field like infrastructure, technology and education. But we all know that good food and coffee defines the culture and richness of every city. Let me tell you that Gurgaon is also the home of numerous cafes which make this city more lively and truly reflect the spirit of this city.
Vapour
Nestled inside the MGF Megacity Mall in Gurgaon, this watering hole is immensely popular for their variety of beer, plush ambience and sumptuous eats. Their very own dark and premium brews are the most popular beers here and one has the option of ordering for them in pitchers (if you have the belly for it). Their beer cocktails or beer-tails change every month and are refreshingly innovative. While their side bite order of ‘nuts and beans masala’ is a super hit, their Chinese chicken starters are unobjectionable. Like many other breweries in the city, their main course may not get any mentions in food awards but for those with a sweet tooth, their Chocolate Marble Cake and a Chocolate Velvet Cake will have you licking your fingers. If you want your personal space, you could request for the luxurious private dining room that has an LCD TV too. But the most popular area in this brewery is undoubtedly the rooftop terrace where getting a table may be a bit tricky unless you call and book one in advance.
Striker Pub and Brewery
One of the most sought-after microbreweries in the city, this one has a rocking venue for live gigs as well. Their in-house pilsner is a good brew to pick from and if you’re in the mood for cocktails, their Bloody Mary, Tequila Sunrise, Cosmopolitan and Mojito are all mixed just fine. Among quick bites, decent orders include their sweet chilli potato, prawns with pepper and salt and chicken strips with ranch dressing. If you’re up for something heavier, surely try their Lamb Galauti Kathi Roll. The only downside here would be the fact that it gets extremely crowded on weekends and it’s practically impossible to find a table or even enough place to stand about.
Hops ‘N Brew
Taking serious pride in their quality of brew, this microbrewery does it all, dark, strong, wheat and lager. The liquor menu here is quite expansive for a microbrewery and one can expect to find a variety of champagnes, aperitifs and even wines to choose from. But then again, if you’re visiting a microbrewery, you’ve already decided what you want to have. The music is comparatively softer than most other beer pubs in the city, making it possible to converse. Safe and sumptuous orders here would be their golden fried prawns and chicken nuggets with Virgin Mary sauce. Styled like an English pub, this one would be a good budget option for beer-lovers who don’t fancy loud music.
