Maharashtra: The Mumbai is witnessing heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning due to which the residents are facing the problem. The people are facing a problem like water-logging,  vehicular traffic, and suburban trains. 

The  Meteorological Department (MeT) alerted that high tide is expected today and also warned for heavy rainfall in next 24 hours.

"Thoughts with families in rain-hit Mumbai, parts of Maharashtra & western India. Govt & civil society must work together #PresidentKovind" tweeted President Ram Nath Kovind.

The trains are getting delayed due to heavy downpour. The flight operations in the evening yesterday at Mumbai airport were suspended for nearly half an hour due to poor visibility and water-logging on the runway.There are delays in arrivals and departures flights because of the rainy weather. 

Due to heavy rains on Tuesday night, 13 buses were stranded on waterlogged roads. The bus control staff worked overnight beyond duty hours to attend to buses on roads, said BEST chief public relations officer Hanumant Gophane.
