In Jammu and Kashmir the BJP withdrew support to the PDP, after which Mahbuba Mufti resigned from the post of CM While the BJP has told this decision in the national interest, PDP has said that the principles behind the breakdown of the alliance are not to be withdrawn. Political parties reacted sharply after the collapse of the coalition, which lasted nearly three years in the state. In Jammu and Kashmir, the main opposition party, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah, met Governor NN Vohra and talked about the state's political atmosphere. Meanwhile, a new question has emerged that why Omar Abdullah has not come help PDP in Jammu and Kashmir.

In such a situation, the involvement of Omar Abdullah with Mehbooba was considered to be the greed of power, which could shock the image of the National Conference in the state. The reason behind not collaborating with Mehbooba was that there was no one but the PDP and the BJP on the National Conference target during the elections. In such a situation, with the criticism of the party he wouldn't be able to come to power, then with the same party, it would have to be in power.

Actually, there was a great reason behind the breakdown of the alliance in Jammu and Kashmir that the state remained in turmoil for most of the time under the PDP regime. After the Burhan Wani encounter case, the situation of the state became worse. In such a situation, it was like wearing a crown of thorns for Omar Abdullah to go with PDP.

National Conference is a constituent party of the UPA. It was the Congress which supported the National Conference in the 2008 Assembly elections. Omar Abdullah became the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir only with Congress support. Now, while the National Conference is also a part of the general body formed for the Lok Sabha elections in 2019, it may be a wrong step to go with PDP before the general elections.

One reason for not coming along with Omar Abdullah's PDP is that the BJP-PDP coalition has completed half the term in the state. In such a situation, coming to power for only half the term could prove to be risky for the National Conference.
