#MeToo :Higher-ups were aware of Anu Malik’s abusive power: Danica D’Souza

It has been almost two weeks of begnining of #MeToo movement in India and so far many Bollywood celebrities have been accused of sexual harassment including Alok Nath, Vikas Bahl, Kailash Kher and Rajat Kapoor. Recently, Music composer Anu Malik’s name also included in this list as four women accused him of sexual harassment. Now, Danica D’Souza that she knows about the women who have been accused by Malik.

In an interview to a daily, D’souza worked at Freemantle Media India during Indian Idol Season 5 reveals about the incidences. Remembering the incidence she said that while one of her colleagues who was travelling with Anu Malik share her experience that how Anu Malik tried to touch her thigh and felt her up after they wrapped up.

She also added that the reports of Anu Malik’s sexual misconduct not unusual what the what disappoints her more is that higher ups chose to ignore the complaints. She further added that instead of doing something about it, production house asked everyone to be careful around him and not meet him alone since he behave over-friendly at several times. D’souaza hopes that an action is taken against him.

Currently, Anu Malik is judge of Singing reality show indian Idol and channel have already asked him to step down as the judge post allegations but  no official statement has been released yet.
