Hima Das’s coach Nipon Das has been accused of sexual assault by a women athlete who was talking training under him at the Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium in Guwahati.

The women athlete complaint against the coach and according to her police complaint she has been sexually assaulted by her coach Nipon in middle of May. The local police filed against Nipon on the complaint of athlete on June 22.

Nipon Das said that women athlete made the false charges as she did not get a place in the Assam team for the National Inter-state Athletics championships which held in Guwahati from 26-29. He further added that he could not make a place for her in the championship as there were two other girls who were better than her and since failed to get the place in the championship, therefore, she filed the complaint against him.

Coach said that she could not make any proof of her allegations. Assistant coach and other athletes were also interrogated but all of them said they deny to see such incidence. The coach further added that If he is guilty and made any offence he should be punished but he declares that he is not done anything wrong.

Nipon Das worked with the state Directorate of sports and Youth welfare. He trained and mentored the Human das to World Junior Championship title.
