The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) is expected to declare its chief ministerial nominee for Himachal Pradesh today.

Meanwhile, followers of former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal created a disturbance at the venue where party's central observers were holding one-on-one meetings with the newly elected MLAs to know their outlook on who should be the next Himachal Pradesh CM.

Peterhoff Hotel on the famous Shimla ridge turned into a political battleground because of Dhumal supporters in yesterday morning. Loss of Dhumal from Sujanpur seat has made choice of the chief minister a hard-hitting ask for the BJP leadership.

Anurag Thakur left out meeting with party observers today. Shanta Kumar, Virendra Kashyap, and Ram Swaroop Sharma were present today and Dhumal and Jairam Thakur supporters yelled slogans.

Chaotic lobbying is going on for the top post with Union minister JP Nadda and five-time MLA from Seraj constituency Jai Ram Thakur emerging as clear favorites. But in spite of losing his seat, Dhumal is not ready to bow out with at least three MLAs declaring to vacate their seat for him to search for re-election.

Sources say that at least two dozen MLAs have met Dhumal uttering solidarity with him. This is one reason why party leadership is finding it hard-hitting to pay no heed to him.
