A song that became hit after release and is remembered fondly even years after the release is all set to be recreated. We are talking about a song from the film 1942: A Love Story titled “Ek ladki ko dekha to aisa laga” picturised on Anil Kapoor in the film directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The song was sung by Kumar Sanu.

The song will be recreated in an upcoming film with the same name. Interestingly, this film will also feature Anil Kapoor alongside Sonam Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, and Juhi Chawla. It will be directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar, sister of Vidhu Vinod Chopra, which will be her debut as a director. Sonam Kapoor and Anil Kapoor will be seen together in a film for the first time.

Sonam Kapoor broke the news on Instagram and posted a picture from the set featuring Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Shelly Chopra Dhar, Rajkumar Rao and herself. The film’s shoot started in Patiala a month ago. Director Shelly Chopra Dhar confirmed the news in a press statement.

“Yes, we are recreating the original and we want to replicate its iconic status. It’s hard to beat the original so I will be happy if we are at par with it. However, we’ll have to wait and see who sings the new version and for whom in the film,” wrote Shelly in a statement issued to the press.

The singer has not been finalised yet.
