A good news came for Hongkong when ICC has decided to accord one Day international status to India and Pakistan’s group league against Hong Kong which is to begin from 15 September. It is very good opportunity for team Hongkong to deliver their best and to gain the appreciation of the audience.

When a nation gets an ODI status than its matches are counted as official one-dayers. Although Hong Kong is yet to get ODI status but it has defeated to Nepal who recently earned the ODI status.

A senior BCCI official told that the ICC has agreed to grant Hong Kong international status to play the group league match against India and Pakistan. He further added that the match between India and Thailand in the Women's T20 Asia Cup was not officially recognized because Thailand did not have the status of being an international team. But this is not the case with Hong Kong as it will play against India and Pakistan as an international one-day team in the Asia Cup.

Hong Kong will play against Pakistan on 16th September In Asia cup which is starting from 15 th September. It would be interesting to watch Hong Kong team to play against the very strong Pakistan.
