On the dispute between the couple in Shobhapur village, the husband threw acid on his wife. Due to which the face of the woman was scorched. The police reached on the spot after getting the information and took the matter into the notice. At the same time, the accused escaped from the spot. 

The victim, a resident of village Shobhapur, reached the police station at Kankkheda and told that her husband is retired from Navy. She has two children. The woman has alleged that the day her husband came home for some time, he quarrelled and assaulted with her. 

On Sundays, he tried to mesmerize in the house with slight modesty. After that, he again started to assault her. On having an argument in a fight, the accused threw acid on her face. This resulted in damaging the victim's face badly. Inspector Deepak Sharma says the accused is absconding from the house. The matter is being investigated. 

Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and UP account for 53% of acid attacks all over India. The highest number of cases are reported in Delhi and the majority of them are against women. In 2013, acid attacks were recognised as an offence under IPC 326A and 326B. The sale of acid was also registered under the Poisons Act.
