The actress quit Naagin after its second season as she could not be a part of the same, owing to her film commitments. In an interview with Mid-Day, She said, "Naagin has become a brand. Our naagmani is Ekta Kapoor. Till the time she is around, the show will keep running. I miss being a part of the show. It is as much my baby as much as it is Ekta mam's. But at this stage in my career, it's difficult to allot eight to nine months. If I have to do that, I'll have to bid goodbye to films, and that is something I don't want to compromise on."

On the work front, Mouni is all set to be seen alongside John Abraham and Jackie Shroff in Robbie Grewal's Romeo Akbar Walter, which is slated to hit the theatres this Friday. The actress would then be seen playing the lead antagonist in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra. She is also to share screen with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Bole Chudiyan and Rajkummar Rao in Made In China.
