Expecting poised Ms. Dhoni to enthrall everyone by his genius on the field of Champion’s Trophy, everyone was overly zealous and full of hopes before they saw enthusiastic Hardik Pandya walking down the ground.

Enchanted by vintage Yuvraj, the Phoenix rising from ashes who gave a good push to the match, the crowd filled with Indian fans now anticipated former captain Dhoni to be the showstopper but got enveloped in despondency on seeing Pandya.

These last 9 balls were filled with boundless opportunity and were to be exploited at its best. Hardik performed beyond the Indians’ imagination and left everyone in awe when he scored 23 runs in the final over with three towering sixes.

“The lower-order contribution is something that is a key factor. We can’t really have four to five batsmen in the lower order that will get out quickly because you want to make the most of 50 overs," was Dhoni’s belief when he was the Captain. Witnessing such a transformation and seeing Pandya like batsmen in the lower order, Dhoni would have been very satisfied.

“It was unbelievable the way he came out. We switched in the end, they asked whether we should send Hardik ahead of MS and everyone agreed because he can just strike the ball from ball one, (he has) unbelievable ability so I think those three sixes and a boundary was probably a little bit of difference as well in the end,”said Virat Kohli.

Hardik has restored everyone’s faith in his batting ability when he ensured India chased down England’s monumental 350 in Pune with blistering, unbeaten 40 and impressive 56 in Kolkata.

IPL was a good warm up for Pandya and Champion’s Trophy came with a big responsibility and Champion’s Trophy with Pakistan filled everyone with indomitable prowess and courage.

Pandya’s blitz showed Pakistan their way back to home and ensured the legacy to move forward.
