Papua New Guinea batsmen Tony Ura's scored maiden ODI ton was shaded by skipper William Porterfield's measured century as Ireland clinched a victory over Papua New Guinea in the final over to register their second successive win in the tournament. Needing 236 runs to win, Ireland reached the target with five deliveries remaining and four wickets in hand to consolidate their top spot in Group A. Tony Ura's knock was the lone supporting pillar for PNG's innings after they were put in. Losing wickets at regular intervals, they were reduced to 117 for 7 with Ura not finding any support from the other end. Chad Soper managed to answer that call as he put on 83 with the opener for the eighth wicket. Ura eventually fell in the final over after crossing 150 as PNG were bowled out for 235. Ireland got off to a good start in the chase as the openers put on a half-century stand. While PNG managed to send back Paul Stirling and Andrew Balbirnie in quick succession, Ed Joyce helped his skipper steady the innings as they put on 108 for the third wicket. Ireland stuttered ahead of the finish line, losing a few wickets but Gary Wilson and George Dockrell ensured a safe passage home for their side.

Brief scores: Papua New Guinea 235 in 50 overs (Tony Ura 151, Chad Soper 25; Andy McBrine 3-38) lost to Ireland 237/6 in 49.1 overs (William Porterfield 111, Ed Joyce 53; Assad Vala 2-39) by 4 wickets.
