A thrilling tie between Zimbabwe and Scotland ensured the hosts finished top of their group. Despite being reduced to 69 runs for loss of 4 wickets in the thrilling run chase of 211, Scotland were cruising towards the target with Richie Berrington and George Munsey looking steady. Zimbabwe then fought back with quick wickets to get on top of the game before Michael Lesk gave them a scare, taking Scotland closer to the target. Blessing Muzarabani then bowled a wide off the first ball in the final over to bring the scores level before holding his nerve to get rid of the final man Bradley Wheal.

Zimbabwe themselves suffered a huge collapse during their innings. Following handy contributions from Solomon Mire and Brendan Taylor, the innings was well set for a big finish at the halfway mark. But from 138 runs for 3 wickets, they lost three wickets for the addition of just 14 runs. Only Craig Ervine provided resistance with a half-century as Safyaan Sharif closed out the innings with his fifth wicket, which was his maiden five wickets haul in ODI's.

Brief scores: Zimbabwe 210 in 46.4 overs (Craig Ervine 57, Brendan Taylor 44; Safyaan Sharif 5-33, Michael Lesk 4-37) tied with Scotland 210 in 49.1 overs (Richie Berrington 47, Kyle Coetzer 39; Graeme Cremer 3-21, Tendai Chisoro 3-42)
