New Delhi: superstar Amitabh Bachchan has made an massive contribution to Hindi cinema and remains one of the most iconic stars, the country has ever produced. As a mark of honor, the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will bestow him with an award.

Big B will be privileged with 'personality of the year' award at IFFI, as per I&B Ministry sources, quotes PTI. The superstar is a face of many campaigns such as the Swachch Bharat Abhiyan and several other social concerns that helps in creating awareness among people of India.

Senior Bachchan is at present shooting for YRF's 'Thugs Of Hindostan' which also stars Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in the lead as well Amitabh Bachchan . The film is directed by Dhoom 3 maker Vijay Krishna Acharya.

 Recentlly Marathi filmmakers whose works have been selected for the 48th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa mulled over a withdrawal from the event to protest against the decision to drop director Ravi Jadhav's film 'Nude' from the list of selected movies.

Malayalam director Sanal Kumar’s  film 'S Durga' also faced the same upshot, filed a petition in the Kerala high court against the information and broadcasting ministry and IFFI authorized over his film being fallen from the Panorama section of the festival.

 Yesterday Following this, head of jury Sujoy Ghosh stepped down on Tuesday. He was not ready to speak to media but said on his 'Twitter' handle, "My resignation is my statement".
