ISRO successfully launched India's heaviest satellite GSAT-11from French Guiana

Bengaluru: India's heaviest satellite GSAT-11 was successfully launched by an Arianespace rocket from the French Guiana in the early hours of Wednesday. It would boost broadband services in the country.
Blowing up from the Ariane Launch Complex in Kourou, a French territory located along the northeastern coast of South America at 02:07 am (IST), the Ariane-5 vehicle brought in the GSAT-11 into the orbit in a perfect flight lasting about 33 minutes. 
It is noted that the launch was broadcasted live on Doordarshan.

".....The heaviest, largest and most powerful satellite ever built by India is successfully launched by Ariane-5 today," Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman K Sivan stated soon after the  the successful launch. 
He stated that GSAT-11 is going to be the "richest space asset" for India adding  that the satellite has 38 spot beams as well as eight sub beams. They would cover the entire country, including the remote places. He further said It is going to provide something like 16 GBPS data link services to the country.
Worth mention here GSAT-11 is the third in a series of four satellites aimed at achieving the government's go-getting objective to offer high data connectivity of 100 GBPS in the nation under the Digital India Mission. It weighs about 5,854 kg. GSAT-11 is the "heaviest" satellite built by the ISRO.
