According to the latest reports in the coming year of 2019-20, new courses will be started at 15 industrial training institutes (ITI) located in two districts of Marathwada to provide skilled manpower to the rail coach factory at Latur. The foundation stone of the factory will be laid on March 31.

On the sidelines of the Marathwada Sneh Milan programme at Kasarwadi on Friday, Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar, state labor minister and guardian minister of Latur district, said, "It is the largest government project to come up in Marathwada and will generate direct employment for around 14,000 people."

The new courses to be started in 15 ITIs in Latur and Osmanabad.

Industrial Training Institutes and Industrial Training Centers are post-secondary schools in India constituted under Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGET), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Union Government to provide training in various trades. 

The Directorate General of Training (DGT) initiated Craftsmen Training Scheme in 1950 Training periods range from six months to two years in over 130 different specialties. Prerequisites for the courses range from 8th to 12th class pass. Upon completion of the training, trainees write the All India Trade Test (AITT). Successful candidates receive the National Trade Certificate (NTC).
