Chinese smartphone company OnePlus is allegedly collecting sensitive information from its devices without the permission of users and is sending them to the company's servers. This is revealed by a security researcher Christopher Moore.

Moore is a software engineer. Moore has said in a blog post that OnePlus has collected the phone's IMEI, phone number, MAC address, mobile network name, the serial number of the phone and ESSID and BSSID of the wireless network.

OnePlus is sending information to its servers and acknowledges the data collection in a statement. OnePlus has said that the company has done this to increase its software base on user behaviors and to give better after cell support. Moore had contacted the Chinese company in January 2017 and asked to make the data collection universally disabled.

The important thing is that Moore monitors incoming and outgoing traffic from his phone. They found that this traffic was sent to the AMAZON AWS server located in the US.

In the past there have been controversies, Moore has claimed that the activation of the screen on / screen off and unlocking the phone has also been sent to the company's server. However, this is not the first time that OnePlus is stuck in such disputes. At the beginning of this year, the company was accused of raising OnePlus5's benchmark scores on an app like Geekbench 4.
