Cricketer-turned-politician, Imran Khan will now swear as Pakistan's 22nd Prime Minister Earlier on Friday, Imran defeated Opposition (PML-N) candidate Shahbaz Sharif in a one-sided fight in the one-sided election in the Lower House National Assembly on Friday. Imran got 176 votes while his only rival Shahbaz could get 96 votes. 65-year-old Imran Khan has got political support for several small parties to make Wazir-e-Azam.

Meanwhile, former cricketer and Punjab's local body minister Navjot Singh Sidhu has reached Pakistan to join Imran's swearing-in ceremony. He has taken the Pashmina Shawl as a gift to Imran. Sidhu has a 15-day visa to visit Pak.

In order to form a government in Pakistan's National Assembly with 342 members, 172 votes are needed. But on Friday the political turmoil started. To make 54 votes for PPP in favour of Shahbaz Sharif, senior PML (N) leader and former speaker Ayaz Sadiq went to Bilawal Bhutto's seat and persuaded him to participate in the poll but he did not believe. Not only that, Shahbaz Sharif had also asked Bilawal to join the poll. Along with this, Jatam-e-Islami did not participate in the poll.

Imran Khan got the support of small parties during the voting. Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Balochistan Awami Party, Pakistan Muslim League, Grand Democratic Alliance, and Awami Muslim League voted in favor of Imran.

Navjot Singh Sidhu went to Pakistan via Wagah Border to take part in the oath taking ceremony of Imran Khan's Prime Minister. Sidhu was saying from the very first day that he will go to Pakistan. Imran Khan invited his old friend Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev and Navjot Singh Sidhu to take part in the swearing-in ceremony. Gavaskar and Kapila Dev had refused to go to Pakistan.
