Jaitley wrote in the blog, "West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had said in the Lok Sabha on 4th August 2005- Infiltration in Bengal is now a disaster ... I have both Bangladeshi and Indian voter list. This is a very serious case. I want to know when it will be discussed in the House. " There are arguments going on between West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and BJP President Amit Shah on the Assam Citizenship dispute. Now Shah has challenged Mamata Banerjee that she will definitely go to Calcutta for the rally.

Amit Shah is going on a tour of West Bengal on August 11 During this, he will meet the party workers. He said, 'It does not matter whether I get permission or not, I will definitely go to Kolkata. If the state wants, then they can arrest him."

Though Mamta Banerjee did not react to BJP President's remarks, the Kolkata Police issued a statement immediately, declaring that she had already given permission to Amit Shah for the rally. Indeed, seeing the speculative speculation in the social media, the Kolkata Police has issued an explanation again.

Significantly, this statement of Amit Shah came a day after Mamta Banerjee's alleged assault on the BJP about the National Citizen Register (NRC) in Assam, in which names of 4 million people have been removed. On Tuesday, Mamata Banerjee had warned that this move of the government can create conditions like a civil war. She had said that BJP is trying to break people. It is not worth tolerating.

On this, Amit Shah had said while attacking Mamta Banerjee that different kinds of misconceptions were spread. Attempts are being made to create an atmosphere of conflict between provinces. "Mamata Banerjee sees Illegal intruders in Bangladesh as 'vote bank' I strongly condemn it."

At the same time, Union minister Arun Jaitley accused Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on writing the blog on NRC issue of playing with the sovereignty of the country. He said that citizenship is the country's soul and do not use it for the vote bank.
