In Nirbhaya case , Today SC to hear offender’s review petition

New Delhi [India], November 13: The Apex Court will today hear the review petition filed by one of the offender, Mukesh, in the Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case.

Previously, the Supreme Court had sustained the Delhi High Court order that had sentenced Mukesh and other three offendres to the gallows.

The review petition was stimulated from side to advocate M L Sharma by Mukesh, who is one of the four offenders sentenced to death.

In May, an Apex Court bench, headed by Justice Dipak Misra and comprising by Justices R. Banumathi and Ashok Bhushan, had sustained the High Court's order of death sentence to the four offenders - Akshay, Pawan, Vinay Sharma and Mukesh.

On December 16, 2012, six people gang raped a 23-year-old physiotherapy intern in a moving bus.

The woman gave in to her injuries in a Singapore hospital on December 29, 2012.

One of the indict, Ram Singh hanged himself behind the bars, while another person, who was a juvenile at the time of the offense, was convicted  in August previous year and will serve the maximum sentence of three years in a transformation home.
