India-Iran hold bilateral talks on transit & economy, says Hassan Rouhani

New Delhi: MoUs exchanged between India & Iran in the presence of Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi & President of Iran Hassan Rouhani during the bilateral talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Iran President Hassan Rouhani in New Delhi's Hyderabad House.

In a press Meet Iranian Prez stated that both nations discussed about transit and economy,”We share views on 2 crucial issues - transit & economy. We want to develop railway relations between the 2 countries & are seeing development of Chabahar Port,” Iran President HassanRouhani at Hyderabad House.

On the ties between India-Iran Dr. Hassan Rouhani  said,”The relations between the two countries goes beyond trade & business, it goes back in history,” said Iran President Rouhani

PM Modi expressed thanks to Iranian Prez and said,”I thank you for the way you provided leadership in developing Chabahar Port said PM Narendra Modi to Iran President Dr Hassan Rouhani.

PM Narendra Modi and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani jointly release the postal stamps marking the economic and trade relations between the two countries.

On India-Iran ties Modi said,”I travelled to Tehran in 2016 and now when you come here now, it deepens and strengthens our relationships”.

On the global terrisosm PM talked about Afgha, and said,” The two countries want to see our neighbor Afghanistan safe and prosper”. He added,” We want to see our neighbors free of terrorism”.

The two premiers talked about stock of whole array of issues that are significant to India-Iran ties. After the talks the two sides signed key agreements.

EAM talking head Raveesh Kumar, “Civilizational connect, contemporary context! PM @narendramodi welcomed President of Iran Dr. Rouhani to India. Both leaders held substantive & productive discussion on cooperation in trade & investment, energy, connectivity, defence & security & regional issues. #DustemanIran, He tweeted.

The two leaders are expected to take stock of whole gamut of issues that are key to India-Iran ties. After the talks the two sides are also expected to sign key agreements.

Earlier this day Iran President Hassan Rouhani met EAM Sushma Swaraj and hold bilateral talks on mutual interest of both nations.

Later speaking to media in Press Meet, Iranian President recalled the age old cultural ties between the two countries.

The ceremonial reception on Saturday Morning has been accorded to President Rouhani at Rashtrapati Bhavan following a call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind.
