9th India-Japan Strategic Dialogue: Swaraj meets Fumio Kishida

Japan:  Following the three-day-visit, Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met Fumio Kishida, Chairman of LDP Policy Research Council in Tokyo.

 EAM talking head Raveesh Kumar tweeted, “EAM @SushmaSwaraj met Chairman of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party Policy Research Council & former Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida. Fruitful discussion on taking the relationship forward across diverse sectors. Mr. Kishida's role in strengthening our ties are invaluable”.

 Earlier in a day in her address, EAM Sushama lauded the contribution of the diaspora in strengthening India‘s relations with Japan and create a positive image of Indians in Japan.

Among an Impressive gathering of the Indian Diaspora at the Vivekanand Cultural Centre in honour of EAM Sushma Swaraj greeted Japan as saying “Konnichiwa Namaste”.

Addressing the Indian diaspora, EAM Sushma Swaraj said that India's relations with Japan have strengthened under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and Japanese PM Abe.

She at the Indian Embassy in Tokyo signed the Visitor’s book. 

 In the event India-Japan Strategic Dialogue, "the two sides will review all aspects of bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest," Ministry of External Affairs had said in a statement in New Delhi on Tuesday.

India and Japan share a Special Strategic and Global Partnership. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited Japan in 2014 while Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited India in September 2017.

 During the visits, bilateral relations have been strengthened in diverse sectors in recent years. India and Japan share a strong cooperation in the areas of nuclear energy, defence and science and technology.
