India and Seychelles ink 6 MoUs: India offers 100 MM dollars

Welcoming the esteemed guest at Hyderabad House PM Narendra Modi received the President of Seychelles Danny Antoine Rollen Faure for bilateral talks.

Special ties with a maritime neighbour are seen in Delhi.

PM Narendra Modi and President of Seychelles Danny Faure witnessed the signing of 6 MoUs between India and Seychelles.

In his address, PM Modi asserted  "We have given 100 million dollars to Seychelles on credit for defence sector".

PM Modi further said India and Seychelles are major strategic partners. adding "We respect the core values of a democracy and share the geo-strategic vision to maintain the peace, security and stability in the Indian Ocean."

India shares deep-rooted and historical relationship with Seychelles. External Affair Minister Sushma Swaraj also called on President of Seychelles Danny Faure in New Delhi and both leaders had Good discussion on expanding bilateral cooperation in all areas, especially capacity building, human resource development and people-to-people contacts.

The mutually beneficial relationship based on shared values and commitment to the ideals of democracy and development President of Seychelles Danny Antoine Rollen Faure was accorded a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan by President Ram Nath Kovind and PM Narendra Modi.

Earlier the day, President of Seychelles Danny Antoine Rollen Faure warmly received by MoS Mj Akbar at Delhi airport on his first bilateral visit to India under the vision of Connected by ‘SAGAR’ – Security and Growth for All in the Region”.
