India beat Bangladesh to lift 7th Asia Cup title

Abu Dhabi [UAE], Sept 29 (NT): India crushed Bangladesh by three wickets in a nail-biting last ball encounter to lift the Asia Cup title 7th time at the Dubai International Stadium on Saturday.

India won the toss and asked for batting first to Bangladesh who could only manage to set the target of 222 runs at the scoreboard. From Bangladesh side opener Liton Das'  made awesome 121 runs from just 117 balls.

Apart from them in the Bangladesh side no other big innings was played .Mehidy Hasan Miraz  made 32 and Soumya Sarkar made 33 runs .Most of them Bangladeshi batsman fell flat in front of the power-packed Indian bowling lineup.

Spinner Kuldeep Yadav clutched three wickets for just 45 runs. Besides him Kedar Jadhav (2/41), Yuzvendra Chahal (1/31) and Jasprit Bumrah (1/39) bowled well. Bangladesh kicked off robustly in the game as openers Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz managed to score a 100-plus partnership.

India got the first wicket at the score of 120.With both Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan opener from Men in Blue team showed a supreme form but unlike earlier games in the tournament, India didn't start off well this time also as Dhawan (15) got out at the score of 35. He was followed by Ambati Rayudu, who only scored two runs before falling off to Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza at the score of 46.

India's stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma made much needed 48 runs  while MS Dhoni scored 36 and Dinesh Karthik  made 37 runs to take India close to the target.

 Following Kedar Jadhav got retired hurt at the score of 5/167, it was a small yet meaning full and most required stand in between Ravindra Jadeja (23) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (21). Soon after the two got out, Jadhav guided India to win after coming back with the help of Kuldeep Yadav as six runs needed from the last six deliveries. For this crucial moment Bangladesh skipper chose off-spinner Mahmudullah to bowl the last over but Jadhav and Yadav played well and clinched a three-wicket win against Bangladesh with easy singles.
