India to visit West Indies for the inaugural series of World Test Championship

  India will visit the West Indies for the inaugural series of the first World Test Championship (WTC). ICC announced today by releasing a future tour program from 2018 to 2023. The ICC said in its statement that India will visit the Caribbean countries for a series of two Test matches under WTC.  In total, nine top teams will participate in the World Test Championship. This championship will last from 15 July 2019 to 30 April 2021. The series against the West Indies will start immediately after the World Cup 2019. In this tour, the Indian team will also play three one-day matches and the same T-20 match. 

India will host the West Indies for three Tests, five ODIs and three one-day internationals at the end of this year. In the world championship, India's second rival will be South Africa, to which they will host for three Test matches.  This domestic series will be held in October 2019 after which another series will be played against Bangladesh. Bangladesh will tour India for two Test matches and three T20 Internationals. In India's World Test Championship, the next two series will be against New Zealand (two Tests) and Australia (four Tests), after which they will host England for five Test matches. 

According to the expectations, there is no series of India and Pakistan World Test Championships, but they can still clash in the final. Overall India will play 18 Test matches under the World Test Championship and 12 of these will be against Australia, South Africa, and England. 

In addition to the World Test Championship, 12 nations and the Netherlands will participate in the one-day league of 13 teams, which will be played from May 2020 to March 31, 2022, and all teams will be competing against each other in their respective countries within two years will play eight series on the basis of India will tour Sri Lanka in June 2020 for their first series of ODI league. This league will work as a qualifier for the 2023 World Cup. Host India and top teams in the top seven places in the ODI league till March 31, 2022, will qualify directly for the World Cup 2023 while the last five venues will get the second chance through the ICC World Cup Qualifier.
