India send back British parliamentarian Lord Alexander Carlile from the Delhi airport, He was denied entry into India on his arrival for not having an appropriate Indian visa .
The top British lawyer's flight landed from London on Wednesday soon after his entry was made prohibited, by MEA.
"His intended activity in India was incompatible with the purpose of his visit as mentioned in his visa application," MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said to reply the query regarding this.
Worth mention here British parliamentarian Lord Carlile is a legal consultant to jailed former Bangladesh Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. He was reported to have travelled to New Delhi to address in a media briefing to draw attention to what the opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party or BNP, calls are "baseless allegations" against Ex Bangladeshi PM.
New Delhi in his clarification said that the decision to reject entry to Lord Carlile to an inappropriate visa.
"It was therefore decided to deny him entry into India upon arrival," Raveesh Kumar said.
The decision is likely to go down well with the Sheikh Hasina government that hadn't permitted the lawyer into the nation.
Lord Carlile had told Dhaka Tribune that since he was not been allowed to come to Dhaka, he wanted to hold a media meet in India "to explain the complexities in Khaleda Zia's case to the international media community".
