India selector announced Young pacer Shardul Thakur and wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik have made their way back into the national team. As Team India looks set for another win against Kiwis, but Indian opening batsmen KL Rahul, who was in the squad for the ODIs against Australia but didn't play a single game, was left out for New Zealand squads.

Look upon as one of the most reliable performers in domestic circles,  Dinesh Karthik has been one of the strongest contenders to make the team. The 32-year-old has played 23 Tests, 73 ODIs, and 10 T20Is, scoring 1000, 1365 and 148 runs respectively for the India as he also stays behind the wicket. India is currently the top-ranked ODI side in the world as well in the Test ranking. There dominated performance continued against Australia as they defeated Australia 4-1 in the just concluded five-match series at home. Before that, Kohli & Co blanked Sri Lanka 5-0 away.

Earlier in the day, New Zealand added six players to their squad with Glenn Phillips and Todd Astle in line to make their ODI debut in the three-match series. Besides Phillips and Astle, Matt Henry, Henry Nicholls, Colin Munro and George Worker will join the national team after the conclusion of the series between India A and New Zealand A in Visakhapatnam on Sunday.
