International Olympic Committee Athletes' Forum: Mary Kom to represent AIBA

In the International Olympic Committee Athletes' Forum, the  Boxer M C Mary Kom will represent the International Boxing Association (AIBA). With this, the 33-year-old boxer has created a history as she became the first Indian to be chosen as the AIBA representative for the IOC Athletes' Forum.

The International Olympic Committee Athletes' Forum is scheduled to take place from November 11 to 13 in Lausanne, Switzerland which is  8th International Olympic Committee's (IOC) Athletes' Forum.

The International Boxing Association referred to as the AIBA is an organization that sanctions amateur boxing matches and awards world and subordinate championships.  For every two years, the three-day Athletes' Forum takes place in which the athletes, Olympic medal winners and those who have represented their countries at the Olympics participate.

In the deliberations the Athletes' Commission representatives from the IOC, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), International Federations, Continental Associations and, for the first time, athlete representatives from the Organising Committees for the Olympic Games also take part to make future plans and strategies for sportspersons which takes part in the games.

In the discussions, various topics related to athletes such effectiveness of leadership and Athletes' Commission management best practices to athletes' services and welfare, communication gets covered.
