Sopore (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Aug 03 (NT): An encounter between terrorists and security forces took place in Drusu village in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore district.

And as per the recent reports of leading news agency ANI Two terrorists who have reportedly been trapped by the security forces have been gunned down by security forces. The search operation is still continuing.

This step came after two terrorists from Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) outfit were on Thursday gun down in an encounter with the security forces in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. The exchange of fire between the terrorists and the security forces carried out during a Naka checking. (NT)

An INSAS rifle, grabbed earlier this week from a policeman in the Kupwara district of north Kashmir, was found from the terrorists, According to Police saying.

Besides an INSAS rifle, and an AK-47 was also snatched from a policeman in Kandahar area of Kupwara on Tuesday, was recovered from the assaulted terrorists.

"They were affiliated to the proscribed terror outfit HM. Both the terrorists were involved in several attacks on security establishments and civilian atrocities in the area," the spokesman of the Police department was quoted by Zee news as saying.

Following these terror activities The Chief of Army's Northern Command, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, visited the forward areas and the vicinity in Rajouri district on Thursday to analyse the security situation along the border with Pakistan. Further details are awaited.
