Jhulan Goswami ruled out of the T-20Is series against Proteas

New Delhi [India], Feb 13: India’s women’s team is on the tour of South Africa for limited over series of 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is. India women’s beat South Africa women’s 2-1 in the recently concluded ODI series and obtained four crucial points in the Women’s ODI Championship.

Indian women’s pace bowling attack Jhulan Goswami was the second-highest wicket-taker in the series as he picked up 5 wickets and played a key role in India’s series victory. she also took 4/24 and 1/29 in the first two match. In the second ODI, the veteran fast bowler also became the first female bowler to take 200 ODI wickets when she dismissed South African opener Laura Wolvaardt. After India had clinched the series in the second game, Goswami was rested for the third and final ODI. The 5-match T20I series will be underway from 13th February (today) in the Potchefstroom. Three out of the five games will be televised. Meanwhile, as per BCCI’s statement, Goswami will undergo her rehab process at the NCA (National Cricket Academy) in Bengaluru.

The T20I series against South Africa gets underway on February 13, while the last match of the series will be played on February 24. India's next international assignment is against Australia, with the first of three ICC Women's Championship matches beginning on March 12.
