Mumbai: The month of July witnessed several phases of protests demanding reservation for Marathas in government jobs and educational institutions in Maharashtra. Today CM of Maharashtra  Devendra Fadnavis told to the media reporters that a meeting was held with state leaders from diverse sections and a joint statement has been signed to give reservation to Marathas lawfully He added that State Govt stands in absolute support for Maratha Reservation and we are following requisite process to do it at the earliest.

the Maratha Kranti Morcha is ready to speak to govt before it the protesters at Azad Maidan are organizing a silent protest and while the government has invited the members of the morcha for a dialogue, earlier the protesters said that they do not want to interact with the government as they keep promising but never executed those promises of reservation.

What was the matter?

When the Devendra Fadnavis government came to power in Maharashtra in October 2014, just Two weeks after on November 14, the Bombay High Court crushed the order for the separate quota to Maratha community granted by the previous Congress-NCP government in Maharashtra.

Worth mention here the reservation in jobs and education had been approved by the then government only months ahead of Assembly polls.
