"Drones are essential for security as lakhs of supporters are expected": Kailash Vijayvargiya on Amit Shah 11 Aug rally

KOLKATA:  BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya visited the venue of Yuva Somabesh scheduled to take place Amit Shah’s public meeting on 11 Aug in Mamata Banerjee‘s home ground. BJP President Amit Shah will address at the event ahead of upcoming elections. BJP for the first time to use security drones in Kolkata for the rally in WestBengal.

“Drones are essential for security as lakhs of supporters are expected. Kolkata police holds accountability for security, but BJP workers will be also present to ensure absolute security for our party president”, Kailash Vijayvargiya who is National General Secretary of BJP, said on Amit Shah's rally on 11 Aug in West Bengal.

 Worth mention here Bhartiya Janata Party’s West Bengal unit has appealed to Kolkata Police for permission to fly a drone for mass scrutiny during party president Amit Shah's public meeting.

"We have applied for permission from the Kolkata Police for using one drone during Amit Shahji's rally on Saturday. Drones will help us in keeping an eye on the proceedings in and around the rally area. This is merely for security reasons," West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh was quoted by news agency  PTI .

BJP’s drone demand came in wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Midnapore rally incident where in June 16, Over 90 people were injured after a section of a tent caved during PM Modi's speech at a public rally in West Bengal.

According to the news BJP also appealed to the police to allow the use of walkie-talkies during Saturday's rally.
