Kangana Ranaut was spotted in Bikaner’s Junagadh fort in Rajasthan for a shooting schedule of her upcoming film “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.”

She was dressed in a navvari saree. Reportedly, she is in Bikaner for shooting the scenes involving the younger version of Rani Laxmibai in this schedule. Her appearance gave a hint at the hard work she is doing for the film.

The film, owing to its historical background, invited controversy and was accused by Sarva Brahman Mahasabha of portraying distorted facts in the film. The producers refuted the claims and said they have not represented anything wrong. Film’s writer, K.J. Vijayendra Prasad also defended the film and said they have not at all distorted facts.

“No need to worry about it as I have portrayed her in the most respectable way. She is a warrior who fought against the British. She is my favourite woman leader. I have grown up reading about her. So, I will always portray her in an inspirational way,” Prasad said.

The film is directed by Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi. The cast includes Ankita Lokhande, Sonu Sood, Atul Kulkarni and Jisshu Sengupta. No release date has been declared yet.
