Bollywood actor and comedian Kapil Sharma starrer Firangi release has been postponed. The film which was slated to hit the silverscreen on November 24, will now release on December 1, a date previously chosen by the makers of Padmavati. Trade analyst and movie critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to announce the change in the release date. CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi had Monday said that the board should be given adequate time to come up with a balanced decision about the movie.

"In CBFC, 68 days is the maximum time (to certify a film), it can be less also. We normally do it in a month or over a month's time (certification). With a film like this, you need to be careful, take opinions, so it takes a little bit of time. It does not mean that nothing will happen before 68 days. If they (makers) want a certificate on time, it is advisable that they take this much time in consideration," the source said.

And hence Kapil Sharma’s film got the December 1 slot for the movie release. Firangi is a very important film in Kapil’s career primarily because it happens to be his first venture as a Bollywood producer and second film as an actor. He made his debut with Abbas-Mustan’s Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon in 2015 and had romanced 4 women in the film. But Firangi, set in the backdrop of India in the 1920s under the British rule comes across as a very different film.
