Media persons were allegedly assaulted by a group of private security guards at Bishop Franco Mulakkal's residence in Jalandhar yesterday. A nun from Kerala has leveled rape allegations against the Bishop. Today DSP Kerala questioned Bishop Franco Mulakkal in Punjab and said that the case has been old.

“I questioned him and collected his statement. After verifying his part of the story further steps will be taken. This is an old case so we are collecting more evidence”,DSP Kerala after questioning Bishop Franco Mulakkal in Punjab against whom a Kerala nun levelled rape allegations.

A team of Kerala Police personnel arrived in Punjab’s Jalandhar on Friday, questioned Catholic Bishop Franco Mulakkal on Monday to look into allegations of rape levelled against him by a nun.

According o the reports the team, headed by Vaikom Deputy Superintendent of Police K Subhash, arrived at the Bishop House in Jalandhar at 3.15 pm but Mulakkal was not there. The bishop arrived around 7.40 pm, reportedly in a convoy of 10 vehicles and accompanied by private security guards. The police said questioning commenced around 8 pm.
