Kerala nun rape case updates: Police affidavit confirms nun was sexually assaulted by Jalandhar Bishop

Thiruvananthapuram: A memo filed by the Kerala police in links with allegations against the Bishop of Jalandhar, Franco Mulakkal, has exposed that the nun who has accused him of sexual molestation was certainly raped on several occasions. This development comes as demonstrator stage protest outside the Kerala High Court for a sixth consecutive day. They are demanding the Bishop's immediate arrest.

The memo was filed on August 13. It covers the answers of a six-member team that went to Jalandhar from Kottayam in order to record evidence in the case. It was forwarded to the additional director general of police (Kerala) and the state public prosecutor.

In their memo, the team of inspecting officials noted that a medical examination of the petitioner had exposed that her hymen was tattered which confirms the alleged action of unnatural sex or rape. The same report was submitted to a chief judicial magistrate.

Earlier the day the accused Bishop PRO gave a statement to the leading news agency ANI in which he said Bishop has gone for a seminar and he will probably be back by the evening. He added that Church has no information from Kerala and if they get any information the Bishop will cooperate, Father Peter K, accused Jalandhar Bishop's PRO on Kerala nun rape case.
