Kerela,Tamil Nadu Hold Talks on Water Disputes

Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan met with Tamil Nadu Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, both the minister attended a meeting together to resolve the issue on water disputes. The release of the news of their meeting came from the TN government. The meeting among the two was held in Chennai. 


The main purpose to set a meeting together for both the states is to resolve the issue on “Increasing the storage level of the Mullaperiyar dam”. After attending the meeting both the chief ministers of Kerela and Tamil Nadu told the reporters that “You see, Tamils and Keralites are brothers and sisters. If there is any problem, we can solve it by holding mutual discussions. Such discussions will take place at the official level. If necessary, ministerial-level and chief-ministerial level discussions can be held."


Along with resolving the water disputes issues both the ministers of two states also have been discussed about Nirmal chit fund scam, that is being investigated by the TN and the Kerala police. "It's a big fraud. I spoke to him (Palaniswami) about the Nirmal chit fund. The company's operations are in Kerala and Kanyakumari (TN)," he said. About 14,000 depositors were allegedly duped by the firm.
