India's Sushil Kumar defeated Southa Africa's Botha Johannes in the gold medal match. Sushil off to a quick start by winning six technical points in the first period. On the eighth day of the 21st Commonwealth Games, two gold came in India's wrestling. After Rahul Avare, wrestler Sushil Kumar won a brilliant victory to deliver India the 14th gold medal. Earlier, Rahul Avare performed brilliantly to give India 13th gold medal.

Indian wrestlers 57 Kg categories Rahul Aware and Sushil Kumar entered the finals of their respective categories in the men's freestyle competition at the 21st Commonwealth Games (CWG). Rahul Aware, appearing in his first CWG in the men's 57 kilogram category, did well to qualify for the summit clash in style. He did face some trouble from a spirited Muhammed Bilal of Pakistan in the semi-finals before taking a thrilling 10-8 victory.
