Indian cricketers to turn out in the ongoing English county cricket league, given the BCCI’s strict regulations on releasing players to participate in overseas leagues since the advent of the IPL in 2008. However, with the likes of Indian dependable batsmen Cheteshwar Pujara and R Ashwin enjoying successful tour in England county cricket but brief stints in recent times, and with India skipper Virat Kohli due for a short appearance with Surrey before team India to tour of England this summer. It also appears like cricket fans in England will get more opportunities to watch Indian cricketers unique talents and show adorable form for their respective teams.

The latest updates on Indian players in county cricket , Ishant Sharma, who made a big splash in his first appearance for Sussex. On his debut match, Ishant Sharma took five wickets in Sussex’s draw with Warwickshire at Birmingham, with impressive bowling match figure of  20.2-4-53-3 and 9-3-16-2, overall 29.2-7-69-5 in the match. 

The 29-year-old, who represent team India in 81 Tests and played 80 ODIs, was signed by Sussex for the first two months of the English county season and will be available for five games in the County Championship and all eight of Sussex’s group stage matches in the One-Day Cup. Another Indian top star batsmen Cheteshwar Pujara, a regular in India’s Test team, is like Ishant Sharma not part of the ongoing IPL. The batsman, who had previous county spells with Derbyshire, Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire, has returned to England county cricket to play for Yorkshire.
